Mark William Kennedy will defend his PhD thesis entiteled: “Intracoronary Insights in Diabetes Mellitus” on Wednesday October 18 at the Radboud University Nijmegen. The research project has been performed in the Isala Heart centre Zwolle.

The aim of the thesis is to address whether intracoronary assessments can lead to better risk stratification in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Specifically, the use of invasive haemodynamics and intracoronary imaging in patients with DM will be examined and it will be evaluated whether these assessments may provide some insights into the poor outcomes seen these patients.
